Bibliocommons

Jon Udell does interviews with innovators in libraries. This one is with Beth Jefferson who leads the Bibliocommons project in Canada.

"Beth Jefferson
On this episode of Interviews with Innovators, Jon Udell's guest is Beth Jefferson, the founder of Bibliocommons. Her company's new software aims to transform public libraries' online catalogs into environments for social discovery of resources that are cataloged not only by librarians, but also by patrons."

This product is now aimed at public libraries. SirsiDynix systems are the only ILS services cooperating at this point. If you ever get a chance ot see one of Beth's presentations, go. At this point I uindertsand that Oakville Pubilc Library in Ontario is online with Edmonton PL and Vancouver PL coming on board soon.

Thanks for the post, Stephen. Just wanted to point out that our two beta libraries in British Columbia will be Burnaby and Vancouver Island Regional - not Vancouver PL. And yes, we certainly have appreciated SirsiDynix's collaboration!

The North Vancouver City Library will also be participating with the other two BC libraries in this beta test.
